About Me
Hi, I'mFarah...
For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about the differences in the way we humans think, feel and behave. I have been a psychologist for over 19 years and have loved working with a diverse range of clients across the lifespan. My experience has included working in prisons for a number of years, with children and adolescents in the child protection system and with people with disabilities.
My approach is person-centered and flexible. I use various evidence-based therapies depending on my clients’ goals, needs and preferences and have undertaken training in different approaches. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Functional Assessment and Positive Behaviour Support, and mindfulness-based interventions.
I value collaboration and transparency, and pride myself on being compassionate and approachable. I believe it is important for my clients to feel deeply understood and to have a therapeutic connection based on emotional safety and a shared understanding of goals and challenges.
